Get the Help You Need to Succeed Using this Resource Guide.

This Resource Guide uses Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs for the organization of resources that can address Social Determinants of Health (like ACEs) using a research-informed framework and approach to preventing child abuse and neglect developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy known as the Strengthening Families and The Protective Factors Framework.

History of the Southeast Georgia Resource Guide

This website accompanies the third edition publication of the Toombs County Resource Guide. The resource guide was originally compiled by Michael Nancy Edge as the research project, “How Can Toombs County, Georgia Create Social Entrepreneurships To Improve Education For Community Development?”, presented for the requirements of a Master of Arts Specialization Adult Learning, Corporate Training and Development at Regis University in Denver, Colorado in March 2014. The researcher’s business, Keep Thinking, partnered with Toombs County Family Connection to obtain a Georgia DECAL grant to help fund the second edition publication of the Toombs County Resource Guide in May 2017.

The Method We Use for Data Collection

This process began by researching local organizations and resources in the community. This was done by collecting published materials, researching organizations and resources online, and collecting information published or announced by community organizations and leaders. Former editions of the guide were reviewed and contact information for the organization was updated by using publicly available information. Resources will be updated monthly until January 2024. Leaders of organizations who wish to be included on this website should use the online contact form.
